Pete Rose, fully Peter Edward Rose, nicknamed Charlie Hustle, (born April 14, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.), a professional baseball player who in 1985 broke Ty Cobb's record of hitting (4,189 ). During her career, Rose was known for her skill and enthusiasm. He was named Player of the Decade (1970-79) by The Sporting News. At the end of his career, he became better known for his gambling allegations which led to Major League Baseball banning him from the game in 1989.
