Singer Gene Simmons first decided she wanted to be in the band when he was in middle school, after watching girls shout out to The Beatles on television. He had been in a few bands before founding KISS with Paul Stanley in the 1970s. Simmons later pursued interests in fashion, publishing and production, and starred in the A&E reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
