I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us, and we change things

Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.

“There was purification in punishment. Not 'Forgive us our sins,' but 'Smite us for our iniquities' should be the prayer of a man to a most just God.” 

I like the silent church before the service begins, better than any preaching. 

Prayer clears the mist and brings back peace to the soul.

But listen to me. For one moment quit being sad. Hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you.

To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.

'Thank you' is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.
