Years and years ago, I did a game based on 'Hitchhiker's Guide' with a company called Infocom, which was a great company. They were doing witty, intelligent, literate games based on text.

“Having not said anything the first time, it was somehow even more difficult to broach the subject the second time around.”

“Why?' is always the most difficult question to answer. You know where you are when someone asks you 'What's the time?' or 'When was the battle of 1066?' or 'How do these seatbelts work that go tight when you slam the brakes on, Daddy?' The answers are easy and are, respectively, 'Seven-thirty in the evening,' 'Ten-fifteen in the morning,' and 'Don't ask stupid questions.”

“None of us are ever who we were yesterday.”

“Do one thing at a Time, and while doing it put your whole Soul into it to the exclusion of all else.”

It doesn’t matter how many times you have failed, you only have to be right once.

“If I were a young coach today, I would be extremely careful in selecting assistants.”

“If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”

“You have to apply yourself each day to becoming a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better.”

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.

Be happy in the moment, that’s enough. Each moment is all we need, not more.

The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted.

Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.

Go out into the world today and love the people you meet. Let your presence light new light in the hearts of people

If you judge people, you have no time to love them

I never look at the masses as my responsibility. I look at the individual. I can love only one person at a time. I can feed only one person at a time. Just one, one, one.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight; build it anyway

We fear the future because we are wasting today.

Life is short, but there is always time enough for courtesy.

"What has the actual lapse of time got to do with it? It is only shallow people who require years to get rid of an emotion. A man who is master of himself can end a sorrow as easily as he can invent a pleasure. I don't want to be at the mercy of my emotions. I want to use them, to enjoy them, and to dominate them.”

A painter told me that nobody could draw a tree without in some sort becoming a tree; or draw a child by studying the outlines of its form merely… but by watching for a time his motions and plays, the painter enters into his nature and can then draw him at every attitude.

“I like Wagner's music better than anybody's. It is so loud that one can talk the whole time without other people hearing what one says.”

Do not be too timid and squeamish about your reactions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.

He cannot be happy and strong until he too lives with nature in the present, above time.
