“The people who are known are riding the crest of some wave. Now, you can ride the crest of the wave and try to use it to get power, which is the standard thing, or you can ride the crest of the wave because you're helping people that way, which is another thing. But the point is, it's the wave that matters”

“People want to explore, we want to press our capacities to their limits, we want to appreciate what we can. But the joy of creation is something very few people get the opportunity to have in our society: artists get to have it, craftspeople have it, scientists.”

“People who call themselves supporters of Israel are actually supporters of its moral degeneration and ultimate destruction.”

“People not only don't know what's happening to them, they don't even know that they don't know.”

“Most people nowadays would not consider love as related in any way to truth. Love is seen as an experience associated with the world of fleeting emotions, no longer with truth.

“People never lie so much as before an election, during a war, or after a hunt.”

“People never lie so much as after a hunt, during a war or before an election.”

“We are like people looking for something they have in their hands all the time; we're looking in all directions except at the thing we want, which is probably why we haven't found it.”

“People are like dirt. They can either nourish you and help you grow as a person or they can stunt your growth and make you wilt and die.”

I'm always attracted to people who interest me. They've got to be people who are really true to themselves somehow, and who are always trying to do something that makes their life more interesting, or better, or something for somebody else. They're interested in people.

My children came out as individuals in their own right. They were not my products. They had their own characters and were very strong-minded. I gave them a lot of freedom when they were still very young. The one thing they got from me is morals. They would never betray anyone. They are really good people.

I just think people should invest in the world. Don't invest in fashion, but invest in the world.

I do not approve of museums trying just to get people to come in. Whistler was very, very clear on this.

There is so much that people take for granted.

My biggest criticism is how can people be so easily satisfied? Even people with talent.

We have got to change our ethics and our financial system and our whole way of understanding the world. It has to be a world in which people live rather than die; a sustainable world. It could be great.

People have never looked so ugly as they do today. We just consume far too much.

It is extremely difficult to say how long the process actually took to finally achieve my fragrance, Boudoir, because there was a lot of time waiting around for other people.

I think some people would love to be able to make the clothes I make - and of course, I do influence them, but they keep simplifying, and minimalism doesn't quite work.

But, the thing is, since I always had my own little shop and direct access to the public, I've been able to build up a technique without marketing people ever telling me what the public wants.

“People have never looked so ugly as they do today. We just consume far too much.”

“I am attracted to people who make this effort in knowing what suits them - they are individual and stylish.”

People are beginning to doubt the moral certitude of people on the right, especially the far right.
