It was good to see him relax a little bit and get going. Obviously, spring training is not the best barometer for how you base these guys but, you know, he was 0-for-20 or whatever and he had a couple knocks so that's why you don't put a lot of emphasis on games like this because you can turn it around in one day.

It's always nice to get the guys out there moving around. You sit back and watch guys throw on the side, but the only way you can get a good feel is to get into game action.

They know their bodies better than anybody. When they are ready to play they'll tell me. . . . There's no reason to push them. We're going good and this gives some of the other guys a chance to play.

They're the division champions. Those are the guys we've got to go through to be where we want to be. We feel good going into the series. We want to feel good going out.

I've talked to my guys about it. All teams, when they go through a growing process, these things happen before you get to a certain level. I told them to make sure they don't like the taste they have in their mouth. It's going to be a good learning experience for them.

It boils down to how the guys play for you. That's the most important thing for me. I've done a good job getting my team ready to play every day. That is, as a manager, all you can do. The other stuff you can poke holes in. The main thing is I've learned a lot about the game.

He is part of the team and he's going to be a part of the team. We'll get him going. He's going to be fine. We feel real good about him, even though he's one of the guys on the team that's maybe struggling a little bit right now. We'll just continue to give him the ball when we can, and I think before too long he'll start to feel good about himself.

The utter folly of these lunatic physicists to consent to do such work for war-purposes: calmly plotting the destruction of the world! Such explosives in men's hands, while their moral and intellectual status is declining, is about as useful as giving out firearms to all inmates of a gaol and then saying that you hope 'this will ensure peace'. But one good thing may arise out of it, I suppose, if the write-ups are not overheated: Japan ought to cave in. Well we're in God's hands. But He does not look kindly on Babel-builders.
