Richard Brautigan was a prolific American short-story writer, novelist and poet. His thoughts and works often reflected satire, black comedy, magic realism and parody. Some of his best-known works include, ‘In Watermelon Sugar,’ ‘A Confederate General from Big Sur,’ ‘Trout Fishing in America,’ ‘Willard and His Bowling,’ amongst others. Until 1982 he published a number of poetry and prose collection. In 1984 he committed suicide after suffering from years of despair as mentioned by sources.
