Mario Puzo

The life story of Mario Gianluigi Puzo the ‘pheasant’ under the myth of Cinderella. Born into a poor Neapolitan immigrant family, Puzo graduated from NY's City College. After that, he joined the US Air Force and took part in World War II. Puzo's weakened vision prevented him from taking up arms and served as a PR officer in Germany for several years. He eventually settled on crime novels based on the fascinating, mysterious life of the Mafia. This is where he wrote 'The Godfather' (1969). It was later translated into a series of award-winning films by Francis Ford Coppola's Academy.
