Sepetys was born in Detroit, Microsoft, the daughter of a Lithuanian refugee. She holds a B.S. International Finance from Hilldale College. While at school Sepetys also studied at the Central d'tut Européennes in Toulon, France and ICN in Nancy, France.
After graduation Sepetys moved to Los Angeles. In 1994 he launched Sepetys Entertainment Group, Inc., the company of entertainment management company representing Grammy award-winning guitarist Steve Vai, Orange band modern band Lit, and film producer Emels Bye Nielsen. In 2002 Sepetys was featured in the special Rolling Stone magazine 'Women in Rock' as a woman who is driven to make a difference. Sepetys is on the advisory board of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University and is the director of the Make a Noise Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for music education. Sepetys published her first novel in 2011 and is currently based in Nashville, TN.
