Rosalind Russell was an American actress and the actress is best known for her humorous and inspiring roles in films such as 'Her Girl Friday', 'Auntie Mame' and 'Gypsy.' A popular actor, she won all five Global Globes for his nomination and the Tony Award for Best Performance Artist in Music. She has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress four times throughout her career and received a Special Academy Award. Born into a Catholic family, she became interested in acting and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts after studying at Rosemont College and Marymount College. She continued to act contrary to the wishes of her parents that she hoped would become a teacher. Beautiful and graceful, she began her career as a fashion model and soon entered Broadway as a stage actress. After gaining a lot of success on stage she got into films and made her starring in 'Evelyn Prentice' earning her a great review. Over the years, she earned a reputation as a talented comedian and a leading actor. She often typed the role of a working-class daughter who limited her chances of developing a sex symbol.
