Louisa May Alcott was an American author who wrote under various pseudonyms and began using her name only when she was ready to write. Her novel Little Women gave Alcott financial freedom and a lifelong writing career. More books from her includes Joe Boys (1886), Eight Cousins (1875) and Little Man (1871). Alcott also tried writing for adult novels, such as A Modern Mephistopheles (1877) and Work (1873), but these stories were not able to get as much popularity as her other writings. died in 1888.
