Joyce began as a local Bible teacher in 1976, and then became an associate pastor of the church in St.
Joyce holds a PhD in theology from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida, an honorary doctorate in Divinity from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and an honorary doctorate in Sacred Theology of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Joyce has authored over 90 books on non-fiction and a few fiction books.
Joyce was abused by her stepfather and her first husband. Through God's Word, he was able to forgive these men. Joyce has survived breast cancer. He believes and teaches that no matter what human background or mistakes of the past, God has a place for them and can help them along their path to enjoy daily life.
Joyce and her husband, Dave, have been married for more than four decades, and are the parents of four grown children. Dave and Joyce Meyer live in their St. Paul home. Louis, Missouri. All four of Joyce's children are involved in some Christian ministry.
