Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen was born in Illinois in 1970 and grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dessen's parents were both professors at a local college, and when she was ten years old her parents gave her a typewriter to start writing her stories. That summer was his first book he sold 3 years after graduating from college. Many of her stories are inspired by her friends from high school. Dessen also writes short stories and other novels that are not included in the adult genre. She lives in the United States with her husband and daughter, loves Starbucks mochas, makes a good bean salad and currently has at least 11 black pants.
