William Strong (1808-1895) was an Associated Justice of the United States Supreme Court. He joined the court in 1870 after the election of President Ulysses Grant. He retired on December 14, 1880. Prior to joining the court, he was an independent lawyer. Strong was one of eight judges appointed by President Grant to the Supreme Court, though only five were confirmed. He served during the Chase Court and The Waite Court.
