There will be no Mixed Martial Arts fan, who has never heard of Rafael Dos Anjos, one of the most feared people among the current fighting plants. Born and raised in Brazil, hewas always a difficult child, fighting in schools and on the streets. Somehow, discipline in his life was kept to a certain extent when he enrolled in a martial arts class, studying Jiu Jutsu. He has won several competitions for Jiu Jutsu and eventually won the Black Belt, a limited number of honors. He participated in regional MMA competitions and Brazilian competitions, and did well enough to anticipate a call from the UFC, the last of all MMA artists in the world, and certainly, got his first chance at UFC 91 in 2008. Losing his first two fights made him fear for his future with the UFC but he returned in September 2009 to the third battle of his career with a victory and has never looked back since. He devised a way to deal with any rival honestly and ended up with titles such as the UFC Lightweight Championship, Fight of the Night, Nightmare and Night performance.

QUOTES BY Rafael dos Anjos

God makes everything in perfect time, and he doesn't give you anything you can't handle.

I'm always the underdog, and I go in there and win the fights.

I'm a calm-headed fighter. I do my job.

I've learned that the key is to fight with no pressure.

When you put the pressure on yourself, it's not good. If you fight afraid to lose, you wind up not fighting that good.

Ever since I was 10 years old doing jiu-jitsu, I've done well against the tall guys.

It was priceless. Being the UFC champion and having my kids in the Octagon, my wife, them holding the belt. That was like a movie.

Just to be fighting for the belt, I was already happy. No pressure at all.

I was tested against the best.
