Ron Howard was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, on March 1, 1954. He received international acclaim as a children's actor, first as Opie on The Andy Griffith Show, and then as a young Richie Cunningham on happy days. Howard went on to work very successfully behind the camera, directing movies such as Coco, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code.
