Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of a non-violent Indian anti-British and South African organization that defended the rights of the Indian people. Gandhi, who was born in Porbandar, India, studied law and planned to ban British children from peaceful ways of disobedience. He died of a stroke in 1948.
