Marcus Tullius Cicero
Cicero was a Roman lawyer, narrator, a philosopher, and a politician. He was a champion of the Republican government in the last days of the Roman Republic and was assassinated on the orders of Mark Anthony. Cicero has written extensively on many topics but is best known for his writings and speeches that include the disclosure of freedom, republican government and justice. His Latin writings have had a profound effect on such contemporary philosophers as St Augustine, Desiderius Erasmus, and John Locke. Cicero is regarded as the forerunner of the Latin angel - writing with unique freedom, clarity and direct understanding. He is said to have saved philosophy from philosophers and brought it to society / politics. His most influential work is the concept of environmental rights.
