Cricketer

Considered one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Kapil Dev was an Indian cricket player best known for leading his team to the 1983 World Cup. Confident, talented and highly skilled, he was part of the Indian team to make the most of his career. During his studies he used to push bamboozle bats with his amazing banner. Dev was good not only for the ball; he was equally skilled with the bat. An expert in use and driving, he used to provide India with the essential running needed to win a game even if the top-order failed to earn points. Born into a middle-class family in Haryana he became interested in cricket at a young age. He played for Haryana's cricket team at the beginning of his career and eventually joined the national team, due to his aggressive play and high energy. He praised his place in the Indian team for his impressive performances and soon became captain. It was under his leadership that India went on to win the 1983 World Cup despite being inferior.

Spirituality lies in what you do and how you do it and not what result you get.

People often ask me whether I believe in God. I haven't seen God. But I think that one's beliefs are one's God - and, in those terms, yes, God is there.

I am not too intelligent.

As an Indian, I would like to back my government.

When you take risks and things don't go your way, you can be heavily criticised by the media.
