"There is a point beyond which even justice becomes unjust"

"Peace and justice are two sides of the same coin."

"A bad manner spoils everything, even reason and justice; a good one supplies everything, gilds a No, sweetens a truth, and adds a touch of beauty to old age itself."

"A bad manner spoils everything, even reason and justice; a good one supplies everything, gilds a 'No,' sweetens truth, and adds a touch of beauty to old age itself."

I know what’s required. It’s perfectly simple: Justice.

Ethics and equity and the principles of justice do not change with the calendar.

The only justice is to follow the sincere intuition of the soul, angry or gentle. Anger is just, and pity is just, but judgement is never just.

“Observe good faith and justice towards all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all.” – George Washington

“Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you’re a man, you take it.”

“I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it’s for or against.”

“I am for violence if non-violence means we continue postponing a solution to the American black man’s problem just to avoid violence.”

I seek … the means to fight injustice. To turn fear against those who prey on the fearful.

“Nothing is to be preferred before justice.”

“When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.”

Nothing is black and white, and there is no purity and there is no such thing has justice.

“Originality is nothing by judicious imitation. The most original writers borrowed one from another.”

“Injustice in the end produces independence.”

“I have always found that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.”

“Justice is truth in action.

“Justice is truth in action.”

“The slave begins by demanding justice and ends by wanting to wear a crown. He must dominate in his turn.”

“If you see oppression of the poor, and justice and righteousness trampled in a country, do not be astounded.”

I'm very lucky. The public happens to like me. Maybe they like me because I use every opportunity to talk about injustice.

I had always been interested in race and racial justice, but mostly it was with my nose pressed up against the glass, looking at the South from a long way away.
