Free speech is not just another value. It's the foundation of Western civilization.

I'd rather die on my feet making a speech than die of Alzheimer's - and that's what I'm planning to do.

And, after speech, it provided a readier instrument for the dissemination of nonsense than the world has ever known until our time.

"There’s no debate as to whether we should continue producing fossil fuels. There’s no debate, we should not. Every single scientific consensus points to that."

“To watch the progress of such endeavors is the office of a free press. To give us early alarm and put us on our guard against the encroachments of power. This then is a right of the utmost importance, one for which, instead of yielding it up, we ought rather to spill our blood.”

"I have always said, the first Whig was the Devil"

"Nature is a temple, where the living Columns sometimes breathe confusing speech; Man walks within these groves of symbols, each Of which regards him as a kindred thing."

"I find doing speeches nerve wrecking."

"Words impress me. If a man can speak eloquently and beautifully to me, I just melt on the floor."

"I get terrified the first day I'm on a film set. I get nervous walking down a red carpet. I find making speeches the most terrifying thing in the world."

"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret."

"There are always three speeches, for every one you actually gave. The one you practiced, the one you gave, and the one you wish you gave."

"The decision to go to the moon is now appreciated and associated with President Kennedy's speech, but somebody else had told him it was a good idea. It turned out to be a good commitment, but it was a unique situation."

He who knows, does not speak. He who speaks, does not know.

Speak only endearing speech, speech that is welcomed. Speech, when it brings no evil to others, is a pleasant thing.
