Graham Norton makes me laugh. I love him. I'm not kidding. I watch him on BBC America every week. He's so fast.

Laughter is involuntary. If it's funny you laugh.

Laughter is a sunbeam of the soul.

Laughter is nothing else but sudden glory arising from some sudden conception of some eminency in ourselves, by comparison with the infirmity of others, or with our own formerly.

Sudden glory is the passion which maketh those grimaces called laughter.

Laugh all you want. I know my own worth and don't need to prove it to someone who doesn't know theirs.

Perhaps the mission of those who love mankind is to make people laugh at the truth, to make truth laugh, because the only truth lies in learning to free ourselves from insane passion for the truth.

A good laugh is sunshine in a house

And somewhere he was laughing, in a white-painted loft, distant fingers caressing the deck, tears of release streaking his face.

Inappropriate behavior makes me laugh.

“My dear fellow, you may laugh, but I give you my word that I shall be very glad to have you back safe and sound in Baker Street once more.

“He burst into one of his rare fits of laughter as he turned away from the picture. I have not heard him laugh often, and it has always boded ill to somebody.”

I laugh at myself. I don't take myself completely seriously. I think that's another quality that people have to hold on to... you have to laugh, especially at yourself.

Really, I have to laugh because there was a whole set of stories that made me sound like the Dragon Lady, you know, 'tough this and tough that.' Then there is this business about 'gooey.' The bottom line is I am a pragmatic idealist.

I'll never forget when me and Jason Matthews wrote the line, 'Don't be a tape player hater,' in 'Country Man,' I don't think I ever laughed harder. We didn't know where we were gonna put that in a song, but we knew we had to make it into a song. I just remember laughing and being so proud of such a goofy little line.

I'm happy that I have brought laughter because I have been shown by many the value of it in so many lives, in so many ways.

"Make sure you marry someone who laughs at the same things you do."

"We look before and after, And pine for what is not; Our sincerest laughter With some pain is fraught; Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought."

"There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt."

"If you can't make it better, you can laugh at it."

"Nobody ever died of laughter."

"Incongruity is the mainspring of laughter"

"I love it when somebody makes me laugh - it's what attracts me to people."

"Anything awful makes me laugh. I misbehaved once at a funeral."
