I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him

“I will permit no man to narrow & degrade my sould by making me hate him.”

“I shall never permit myself to stoop so low as to hate any man.”

Great men cultivate love… Only little men cherish a spirit of hatred.

Anything which is more than our necessity is poison. It may be power, wealth, hunger, ego, greed, laziness, love, ambition, hate or anything.

We must in strength and humility meet hate with love.

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man’s sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true.

Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue.

Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

Let no man pull you so low as to hate him.

"What was my body to me? A kind of flunkey in my service. Let but my anger wax hot, my love grow exalted, my hatred collect in me, and that boasted solidarity between me and my body was gone."

The true hero is one who conquers his own anger and hatred.

Violence can only breed more violence and suffering. Our struggle must remain non-violent and free of hatred.

The world's a hard place, Danny. It don't care. It don't hate you and me, but it don't love us, either. Terrible things happen in the world, and they're things no one can explain. Good people die in bad, painful ways and leave the folks that love them all alone. Sometimes it seems like it's only the bad people who stay healthy and prosper. The world don't love you, but your momma does and so do I

and so will the world end, I think, a victim of love rather than hate. For love's ever been the more destructive weapon, sure.

To me, the black black woman is our essential mother, the blacker she is the more us she is and to see the hatred that is turned on her is enough to make me despair, almost entirely, of our future as a people.
